I am finally done with my Space Godzilla sculpt I have been working on for about a year and a half now! This one has used a lot of different techniques and materials than my previous sculptures (resin casting, LED lights, foam carving, liquid sculpey) and a lot of revising (this is the second set of arms, second set of shoulder crystals and second set of back spines on this thing because I didn't like the first versions!)

In some of the pics you can see the shoulder crystals look glowy. I carved one out of balsa foam then sprayed coats of spray paint on it and sanded it until it was pretty smooth. Then I made a latex mold and poured 2 clear resin copies, then applied gloss until it was shiny and clear. I know Space Godzilla usually seems to have milkier crystals but I liked the effect so left it this way. There are LED lights under them.

The back spines were each individually carved from balsa foam, coated with liquid sculpey and several coats of pearly paint later they were ready.

This is about 13.5 inches tall.

Thanks for looking!

Just great, man. I am doing sculpture photography, so do you have any tips at how I might pose sculptures?

Thatis great, and the shoulders light up! i did not know there was liquid sculpy. Do you have to cook it to cure it too?

One of the pictures makes Space Godzilla look like he's on the sidewalk. That picture made me think it was huge!

The body is great, but the head looks...cartoonish. It should be more menacing. Space Godzilla was like an evil clone of Godzilla.
